Star Wars ‘Tie Fighter’ was released by Lucasarts in July 1994. Styling the Imperials as the protagonists of the game, and tasking you with keeping the peace in a galaxy full of rebels and pirates. You play as a defender of the Emperors law and order flying a number of different TIE style vehicles. Now nearly 26 years later a team of dedicated fans have updated the game, adding new graphics, music, and gameplay to renew the venerable classic spacefighter sim.
The game is set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi, and features a variety of mission types and ships to be flown, including TIE Fighter, Interceptor, Bomber, Advanced (Avenger), Defender, Assault Gunboat, Missile Boat. The teaser trailer for the project has just been released and it’s looking excellent.
The original TIE Fighter and X Wing games can be found on a number of platforms including Steam , and will be required to play the mod. More details to follow as they become available, so stay tuned..
