Star Wars Sweded

The word Sweded comes from the 2008 Movie ‘Be Kind Rewind‘ starring Jack Black and Mos Def.  Two bungling video store employees must recreate all the movies they accidentally destroyed.  The time it takes to make these zero budget versions is explained away by saying they come all the way from Sweden.

If you were in a position of having to Swede ‘A New Hope’ in your basement with cardboard and crayons, then you might want to check out this video for inspiration.

Clever chap, Steven Caraher, has Sweded up the opening of Star Wars with the orchestral music of Gustav Holst (ironically of Swedish descent).  Written a good sixty years before George first quietly called action, it’s uncanny how well the cues match the changes in the piece he has chosen, ‘The Planets’.
