Star Wars can’t film on Queen’s land

The request to use the queens land to film scenes for a Star Wars movie was turned down by Crown Estate’s head of commercial operations, Nick Day.

It has not been revealed which instalment was turned down, however it would seem likely to be one of the newest instalments, as the request was put in ‘a few years ago’.

The request was to film scenes at Windsor Great Park, Berkshire, but was turned down as the specific location was not suitable for large numbers of people.

Due to the amount of outside interest in Star Wars, and the size of the operation, Mr Day said ‘Star Wars was just such a huge thing that the risk for the park was too great’
